CEREC®

During a CEREC® session, the dentist removes the substance of the tooth damaged by caries and the tooth is then prepared for an inlay, partial crown or crown. The optical imprint of the teeth is used to make a three-dimensional model which the dental technician then uses to design the ideal shape of the replacement on a computer.

After this, the grinding unit cuts the ceramic dental replacement within only half an hour, which the dental technician then finishes and matches the colour to adjacent teeth.

There are a number of different ceramic materials which can be used, depending on the specific needs. After a final fitting in the mouth, the replacement is then bonded to the tooth.
