The importance of a healthy bit with symmetric temporomandibular joints is often underestimated. Uneven use and a lack of support can cause chronic problems. This imbalance can affect the spine and cause various orthopaedic problems. This is referred to as cranio-mandibular dysfunction (CMD).
The goal of treatment is to identify dysfunctions in how teeth, temporomandibular joints and the overall musculoskeletal system interact and restore harmonic function through gentle corrections and if necessary a suitable brace.
Muscle pain in the head and neck area
Restricted movement of the lower jaw
Teeth grinding
Grinding, clicking or temporomandibular joint pain
Obvious tooth wear
Headaches, migraine
Chronic tension
Susceptibility to stress and sleep disorders
Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and dizziness
Cervical syndrome, shoulder and arm pain
Note: The symptoms above do not necessarily indicate CMD.
