PERIODONTAL TREATMENT

Periodontitis refers to inflammation of the gums and the jaw bone which can result in bone and tooth loss. This affects the overall health, including the cardiovascular system.

Treating periodontitis / peri-implantitis involves a series of cleaning steps. Starting with potential bacteria tests and possibly medication, we then deep clean the periodontal pockets, among other things by laser, without damaging the tissue.

In addition to genetic factors, risk factors also include diabetes, stress or nicotine use.
